I captured this from the rear window of a beautifully restored hearse I saw at a car show. It made me laugh.

I increased contrast to make the image come alive, if you’ll pardon the pun. It was also important to have the paint appear metallic to add a little texture. Overall, one of my favorite images.

A simple square paper lantern. It was a quick grab. I saw it, grabbed my iPhone , and captured it, but not before I tilted the phone a little.

The lampshade is actually beige paper and a little blah in real life. I knew the photo would look better as black and white, so my first step was to convert the image. I also increased the brightness and boosted the contrast, keeping some of the original detail. Finally, I decided it would look better as a square image, so I cropped.

These are outdoor furniture cushions. The black and white pattern caught my attention, and I liked the haphazard way they sat on the shelf. If the cushions had been neatly stacked, I might never have noticed them at all. I used my fisheye lens attachment because I thought the added distortion to the shelving made the image more interesting. It also echoed the curved lines of the pattern.

A lot of processing went into the final photo. I had to straighten the edges a little, emphasizing the curves, and then center the image within the frame. I also boosted the color a bit so the shelf would stand out from the black and white pattern.
